Research for Major Depressive Disorder

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a mental health condition that may affect how someone feels, thinks, and behaves.
There are treatments approved for MDD, however, people taking these treatments often experience considerable side effects that limit how much of it they can take or how long they can take it.
Common antidepressant medications need to be taken every day, take several weeks to improve symptoms, and need to be taken for several months or years. For many people, these medications are not sufficiently effective.
Therefore, effective treatments that don’t need to be taken every day over a long period of time and have limited side effects are needed for people who suffer with MDD.
The APPROACH trial will explore whether an investigational study medicine can improve symptoms in people with MDD.
